about me

Hi! I'm Kaitlea (KATE-lee) and I'm a graphic designer based in Davenport, Iowa.

I got my start in the study of design in 2018. I took a graphic design course for non-art majors just to add a little fun to my schedule. During the second class project, I knew this was what I wanted to do every day. A couple weeks later, I changed my major from Psychology to Studio Art and never looked back.

I made the University of Iowa Dean's List every semester from when I changed my major until graduation in December 2020. I took part in the Sports and Recreation Management summer practicum, where served on the design team and worked closely with the Cedar Rapids Kernels and Chicago Blackhawks. I also worked at school as a Graphic Design Studio Monitor where I learned how to use various production equipment and helped fellow students with projects. I graduated with my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design and plan on going back to school for a Master of Fine Arts degree at some point in the future.

I love doing a variety of projects, especially ones that pose just a little bit of a challenge. Some of my favorite design things to consume include retro or vintage design, branding, and all things fun and colorful.

I currently work as a Marketing Coordinator at Brand2306, a screen printing and embroidery shop in Bettendorf, Iowa. There, I create designs for apparel, assist with production, oversee order management, and I dabble in everything else. We are a small team of just five people, which give me a lot of opportunity to stay on my toes. No two work days are the same.

I also do freelance design work part time, including book covers, resumes, logos, and more. When I'm not designing or working, I enjoy cooking, listening to music, and playing with my cats.
